What counts as an enquiry?
Any call, message, form or quote request from someone who might book you, whether or not it turns into a job.
How do I work out my win rate?
Look back at your last 20 or so enquiries and count how many became paid jobs. 6 jobs from 20 enquiries is a 30% win rate.
Why does profit margin matter?
The job price isn't what you keep. Your profit on each enquiry is the most you can spend to get one. Spend more than that and you lose money on every job, however busy you are.
Should I count repeat customers?
Yes, if your customers usually come back. A regular customer is worth several jobs, not one. Use a realistic average rather than your best customer.
What should I do with the result?
Compare it with what you pay for enquiries now. If your profit per enquiry is higher than what you pay, more enquiries at that price are worth having. If it's lower, you're paying too much.
